You Have A Role

Genesis tells us of a King called Jehovah who established His Kingdom here on earth. The King decided to make men and give him dominion over the Kingdom (He gave us the position of stewards) - we are to administer the Kingdom. Sin was introduced on earth and men fell from their position of dominating the earthly Kingdom. From that point on, the Father’s mission has been to restore the Kingdom and our right to partake in it as joint-heirs with Christ. That is why Jesus came.

Jesus came to restore the Kingdom and make a way for us to return to our position of administering and dominating the Kingdom. Thank God, He didn’t turn His back on us.

All that remains is for us to work alongside Jesus Christ in the restoration of mankind, so that the Kingdom of God may be established in the lives of people in our sphere of influence. That is the reason why we have the organization called THE BROOK TABERNACLE.

The question we need to answer is - how do we go about establishing the Kingdom of God? Jehovah has decided in His own wisdom to divide and give of Himself in part to each of us so that no individual is able to fully represent Him on their own. Not only did He give us gifts (or aspects of Himself) but He told us what to do with them. He said do business till I come, in other words, add value and grow what I have given you.

Mark chapter 4 answers why we are to grow our gifts? He says so that we may produce fruit. This fruit is not only for ourselves but also to benefit society. Don’t compare yourself to others. Work according to your gift and abilities. What differentiates the returns (some thirty, some sixty and some a hundred fold) is our different abilities. God gave us different talents according to our abilities.

The word fruit in Mark is not referring to the fruit of the Holy Spirit as listed in Galatians 5 to include - love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness and faithfulness. It is the Greek word KARPOS that means activity which results in gain or profit.

Deploy yourself correctly, by doing what you were placed here on earth to do. You were made for a specific purpose. What you are passionate about, what comes effortless and is enjoyable to you.

Build the Kingdom by operating in your unique gift. Attempting what you were not born to do leads to toiling. You work yourself to the bone for little return. You become miserable. In fact, it is like succeeding outside your purpose. You may accumulate but your soul is malnourished.

Everything you need for the work God requires of you has already been deposited inside you. If you try and do business outside that gift, you will experience lack and struggles because you are misapplying yourself.

The business of the Kingdom is really about using our gifts to make disciples or citizens of the Kingdom. Your disciples are those drawn to you, who benefit from your gift - they learn about their own gifting as you help them to grow and deploy themselves correctly - before you know it, there will be a community of these gifts working together for the upliftment of the other.

That is what we are building here, communities of believers. Right where you are, deploy your gift for the benefit of others, be a refuge for others. You don’t need a fancy building, it starts in your own living room. Before you know it, that mustard tree will grow larger than the trees around it - as more people learn and are deployed according to their God given purpose. Dream big but deploy locally.

Divine greetings.
